The current safety and mpg targets for car manufacturers incentivize them to produce 'cars' of a certain size and weight to avoid compliance with stricter standards on smaller vehicles.

As such, the manufactuers have incentivized customers to buy SUVs for a few decades now.

Says tweet not found for me.

This was common at our East coast Amazon site circa 2019 as well, but for monitors.

Wouldn't the insurance company's incentive be to sell you the most coverage they can?

Apparently not because you can’t even get a $2m liability car insurance policy in the US that I am aware of. Most top out at 500k and to get anything more you’ll need an umbrella policy.

I agree with parent. When I tap the icon/picture on the history it should pull up the contact not call. I also find the need to click into a submenu for context bad UI.

Your comment is unnecessarily inflammatory.

Has capitalism ever stopped and thought instead of hitting full throttle at any cost?

Not in my lifetime!

Yea, ditto if they only take orders via tablets. Vote with your wallet.

I believe the parent was a Futurama reference in jest.

I did something similar, but just bought the wooden desk top from Ikea. Sanded/stained and added some standing desk legs. Perfect balance between customization and not building from scratch.

I'd be hesitant to recommend a novice to pursue a glue-up/planing project if they weren't already interested in woodworking.
