Came to the comments for this

Removing thumbnails from Youtube looks very boring. Do you open Youtube on your subscribed channels page ? That way, you can trust your favorite Youtubers' thumbnails.

And there's so much crap, shorts and minigames in the general Youtube feed, you won't want to go back there. On my side, I wish to be able to go to my Instagram followed channels without the need of a few taps.

- Where do these vegetables come from ?

- click...click...click...

- Tchernobyl. Thank you.

As a French reader, I read this as "ApéroCraft" ("apéro" means "Pre-dinner drink" here)

Ha — unintentional, but I'll take it. ApéroCraft does pair well with a proposal sent before dinner with a drink. lol

It's a good thing to optimize workflows and sometimes it can help others.

I miss the Firefox extension someone wrote a while ago (like ~2012), it was called HnMarkAllRead

1) it marked as read all topics on a page by clicking a button, even the ones I didn't visit yet and

2) it had this option to not display a topic already read on a previous session when displaying the next page

A new Firefox version killed it unfortunately.

Ghost cut looks like a good idea to deal with an issue OP has :

- I located where I want my text to go

- but when I select and cut, it reflows and I need to locate the place again

Considering the millions of edge cases with Copy, Cut & Paste, the best idea seems to use two other keys for Ghost Cut and Ghost Paste. And Ghost Paste would put it into the clipboard so that you can paste it multiple times and in other apps.

I've another idea of how to do the Ghost thing :

- locate where the text has to go, mark the location

- select and cut the text, the editor reflows

- go back to the marked location then paste

the editor may have built-in bookmark key shortcuts, or it would be a new thing to create.

The clipboard is very weak in Excel. If I copy something, update a cell somewhere and then paste elsewhere, the clipboard vanishes and I need to copy all over again.

Paris (my city): you already noticed than bus and metros have different prices. You can transfer from metro to metro or metro to trains, it doesn't charge another trip if you have to pass barriers, unless there's a system failure... Apart from the monthly pass, us locals have a kinda new offer (2 years ago) that allows all transfers, should have been like that for ages! Yes, two apps, but you can buy a 2€ plastic card instead. Knowing what and how to recharge this card (or the app) would need a whole post.

Munich (recent holiday)

close to what you described for Warsaw: buy a weekly pass from a machine, it comes already stamped, the ticket won't leave your wallet ever again (no need to show it unless there are controllers). There are zones and you can buy extension tickets. And there is an app too.

Lovely! (I saw a few examples in "tests")

Next step : insert the Applesoft Basic assembly code and allow programming in Basic through SQL

We got an article today : "Apple App Store Is Flooded with AI Slop and Legitimate Developers Are Paying" (forbes)

(557,000 new apps to Apple’s App Store; a 24% jump from 2024). Who is right?
