I use it in several projects. You're still open to a few seconds of possible downtime (depending how often you flush the WAL to your remote location, and how bursty your writes are), and you need to have all of your db on disk on the process doing the reads, but it's been great.
Yeah it’s all a pain. One thing that helped was using hotwire native. It is basically a web view but it bridges the mobile app with your website and wraps it into a mobile app. This is the only way I can make apps now. Flutter never worked well for me.

Hi, I used to work at a startup in Toronto that did compete against ticketmaster called Uniiverse. In the end they go bought out by ticketmaster. I don't know the details because I left way before then but this is one example of a company trying.
Doesn't matter too much. We should all just start up one of these and all get acquired, then Ticketmaster has given us all a lot of money for no benefit to them. If enough of us do it they can't afford to keep acquiring us, and there will be real competition.
Kamal is basically self hosting though right? So you have to take care of keeping the underlying os patched etc. With heroku you only needed to think about git push.. ?
