I got an old pair of Sketchers which are great.

They are a bit worn, so a year or two I bought a new pair which are absolutely horrible to wear for any extended amount of time.

Been looking for a good replacement ever since, while my old ones are slowly wearing away. Plastic pieces chipping off the heel every week.

Every single pair of AirPods I've had has died due to one of them not charging anymore. I assume it's the battery.

This is probably just your AirPods or the case getting dirty, doesn’t sound like a failing battery at all.

Yeah, I've taken both my iPhone and Airpods into an Apple Store a couple of times and they cleaned the lightning / internal charging ports for free when the charging started getting a bit shaky, and haven't had any issues since. I'm slightly bemused that people don't think of this - a colleague was talking about getting a whole new iPhone because the lightning charging was getting a bit unreliable, but taking it in to get the port cleaned entirely restored it.

I'll keep it in mind when these fail.

Tesla and surprisingly Hyundai are outliers, the vast majority of cars have terrible infotainment systems, and them deciding to suddenly focus on it does not assure me at all.

I maintain a program using WebView2, it runs quite nicely.

It needs to render custom content, and the HTML renderer is much faster than I'm able to make it myself using the native API.

Do you believe there are many enough of these at scale to make any meaningful impact?

The vast majority of personal projects are not built by those receiving FAANG salaries.

I believe that the explosion of software _production_ in the last 6-12 months in all areas of society is beginning to run headlong into a global bottleneck in the capacity to _deliver_ and _distribute_ that much more software.

Unlike previous boom/bust cycles, I do not believe that demand that's driving the capacity bring-up that's underway right now is going to level off in the near future.

I am personally witnessing teams at my employer that were previously unable to produce software - non-Eng teams - that are now empowered to do so, and some of them are building some cool stuff. I think this is happening at every company everywhere, and I think when we and everyone else solve the "how do we deliver and govern this stuff?" problem there's going to be an even bigger unlock.

My personal experience says yes. I doubled my usage of personal servers because it's so easy to self-host when I have an LLM holding my hand.
