Is chapter 1 of a novel really enough context to generate a chapter 2 of sufficient quality to match up to an author who spent a good amount of time planning out an entire story and whose manuscript probably went through a lot of revisions?

I don't necessarily just feed it chapter 1. (And chapter length varies between novels).

And no I don't think asking the A.I. to write the next 2000 words would require it to have the entire novel planned out. Not all writers even outline in advance.

If there are consequences they will be naturally arising, as there is no violation (that I'm aware of) here. It's _stupid_, and it _looks bad_, and it's _not a good idea_, and it _ended badly for Nixon_, but it's not illegal.

I think Discord is one of the worst things to happen to the web. So much useful, interesting content gets walled off and locked away. It's not public, not searchable, not linkable, not indexable.

I'm never going to stumble across an interesting tidbit of information on Discord while browsing the web.

And even when you do have access to a particular server, you'll often struggle to find something posted a while back, even if you know exactly what you're looking for.

I hate Discord with a passion.

Yes, I share your hate. Unfortunately, the open web is apparently too hostile now for any sizeable open community.

All you really need is a community specific question on the sign up screen and a button for admins to turn off new signups.

Discord sold their product like a YC backed startup. Forums don't do that.

And if you try to index it, people get mad at you saying you are publishing their private conversations online.
